RunDisney Kids’ Races FAQs

The Kids Races at Walt Disney World events (2017 Wine and Dine, 2018 Marathon weekend and Dark Side weekend) have changed slightly. The Diaper Dash is 12 months and under, the 100 meter dash is for 1-4 year olds, the 200 Meter dash is for 4-8 year olds, and there is no longer a 400 meter dash. The Mickey Mile remains the same.

I apologize for any confusion.

How do I register my child for a RunDisney Kids Race? Visit, and click on the races for which you’d like to register. Your child does not need an account, so you log in as yourself, then register “someone under the age of 18” as the “Parent or Legal Guardian” of that child. The rest of the registration process is fairly straightforward.

When are the Kids’ Races held? This varies based on the location (California or Florida) and the weekend. Races are held mid-day (between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm), but check your event guide for more details.

Where is the start line? Check your event guide, but generally Walt Disney World Race starts are on the track at ESPN Wide World of Sports complex, and the Disneyland races start just north of ESPN Zone restaurant.

Will there be photographers and characters? Yes.

Am I allowed to run with my kids? One adult per child may run with their kids.

How do I find my child after the race? Your child will receive a ticket on their bib that you tear off and keep during the race. After the race, you bring that ticket to the secure finish area to pick up your child.

Are the races timed? The Mickey Mile is timed, but all other races are not.
